Florida Health Care Plans Announces Folusho E. Ogunfiditimi President-Elect of the American Academy of Physician Associates

Local health care professional assumes role as national association president.

HOLLY HILL, FL (December 2021)– Florida Health Care Plans (FHCP) is pleased to announce that the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA) has elected Folusho E. Ogunfiditimi, DM, MPH, PA-C, DFAAPA as national president. Ogunfiditimi, a resident of Deland, currently serves as Administrator of Practice Management for Florida Health Care Plans and as adjunct faculty at Butler University’s Doctor of Medical Science program.

“AAPA is pleased to welcome PA Ogunfiditimi as our president-elect,” said AAPA President and Chair of the Board Jennifer M. Orozco, MMS, PA-C, DFAAPA. “As a devoted PA for more than two decades, his commitment to our profession and to AAPA dates back to the start of his career when he was an active member of AAPA’s Student Academy. Folusho has continued to demonstrate his commitment to volunteer leadership through his service on various AAPA committees and in AAPA’s House of Delegates. I look forward to working closely with Folusho to achieve AAPA’s vision of PAs transforming healthcare through patient-centered, team-based medical practice.”

Ogunfiditimi has 22 years of administrative and clinical experience in healthcare administration and urology. His experience spans both inpatient hospital administration, and outpatient clinical practice management, while providing senior leadership and oversight to PAs, NPs, and physicians.

“I am both honored and humbled to have been chosen to as National President-elect of the AAPA. I am excited to be able to represent my fellow PAs in this role and look forward to the opportunity to continue to serve and give back to our professional organization, “said Ogunfiditimi. “This is a calling that I am pleased to be able to step into and am prepared to be able to do my part to advance the profession. I am proud of the work that the AAPA has done but recognize that there is more to do.”

A graduate of Howard University in Washington, DC, he earned a Master’s in Public Health from the Medical College of Ohio and a Doctor of Management in Organizational Leadership from the University of Phoenix. As an American-born, Nigerian-raised healthcare provider, Ogunfiditimi brings global experience to the leadership teams of both FHCP and AAPA.
