We are pleased to announce a new feature for all Florida Health Care Plans (FHCP) members.
Through our partnership with Epic and Donate Life America, members can now seamlessly register as an organ, eye, and tissue donor directly through their MyChart* account. This enhancement provides an easy and convenient way to make a significant impact on life-saving efforts.
How It Works
Patients can register their decision to be an organ, eye, and tissue donor in MyChart from their desktop or phone. Adults 18 or older in the United States can register, regardless of medical history.
A patient’s decision to register as a donor will remain private and will not be visible to their health care team. Only donation professionals will have access to this information through the National Donate Life Registry, and only when needed to honor the patient’s decision at the time of their death.
Why It Matters
100,000 people are currently waiting for a lifesaving organ transplant. There is no transplantation without the generosity of organ, eye and tissue donors.
This initiative introduces a new pathway for individuals to make lifesaving decisions. By registering through MyChart, individuals ensure that their donor registration is documented in the National Donate Life Registry, so their decision is honored wherever they live.
This initiative reflects FHCP’s ongoing commitment to caring for our members and supporting the community at large. We believe that by encouraging organ donation, we can contribute to life-changing outcomes for many individuals and their families.
Moving Forward Together
Integrating this option into MyChart simplifies the process, making it easier than ever for FHCP members to express their organ donation preferences. FHCP is dedicated to enhancing patient care and empowering our members to help save lives.
