FHCP's Anisa Justice Named GuideWell’s 2025 Volunteer of the Year

FHCP's Anisa Justice Named GuideWell’s 2025 Volunteer of the Year

At Florida Health Care Plans (FHCP), we take pride in our employees’ dedication to community service and volunteerism. We are pleased to announce that Anisa Justice, Administrator of Product Development & Underwriting, has been honored as GuideWell’s 2025 Volunteer of the Year for her contributions to Special Olympics Florida.

Justice's journey as a volunteer coach began in high school when she worked with special needs students in the school gym, which ignited a lifelong passion for helping individuals with disabilities through sports.

“It keeps me going and volunteering is the one thing I look forward to doing each week,” Justice shares. “Any challenge I encounter in life is minuscule compared to what these athletes face every day. They have so much perseverance and strength, which is so inspirational!”

Believing every individual deserves the chance to participate and succeed, Justice empowers her athletes by providing unwavering support—traveling to games, offering transportation to practices, and adapting her coaching style to meet their unique needs. This dedication has not only changed the lives of her athletes but has profoundly enriched her own.

"I learned that I have a lot more love that I can give. I didn't know I was capable of loving other people as much as volunteering has taught me to love. Outside of being a mom, this is the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done in my life,” Justice reflects.

As part of GuideWell's recognition, Justice received a $5,000 grant for the nonprofit organization of her choice: Special Olympics Florida.

“By devoting her time and energy to Special Olympics Florida, Anisa is not only making a tangible difference in the lives of others, but also inspiring her FHCP colleagues to do the same," said Tracy Williams, FHCP President and CEO. "Volunteerism is essential to helping our communities thrive. I'm proud to work alongside individuals like Anisa who share our company's commitment to volunteerism and supporting the communities where we work and live."

Her journey serves as a reminder of the impact one person can have through volunteerism. “Don't be afraid to try something new," Justice said. "Just have more patience and understanding, and show kindness, grace, and empathy to those with disabilities. There are so many opportunities to volunteer, not just coaching.”
