Unlock the power of your health data
Your health information, all in one place
Starting January 1, 2027, it will be easier to request and share your health information. If you’re age 18 years or older and have a Medicare Advantage or Health Insurance Marketplace plan, you can request and share current and past health records with your doctors, health insurance plans, and third-party apps.
Parents or guardians of minor children and personal representatives may also be able to request and share health records on a member’s behalf.
Request records from other health insurance companies
You can ask Florida Health Care Plans (FHCP) to securely request your health records from past or other current health insurance companies. You can request records from up to the past five years.
These records may include:
- Medical records
- Dental and vision records, if covered by your health insurance plan
- Prior authorization information
Help your doctors see more of your health history
Starting January 1, 2027, your health data-sharing setting for doctors will be On. This allows your doctors to get health information in real time.
Sharing your records can give your doctors a more complete picture of your health and past treatments. This information can help them make more informed decisions about your care.
See your health records on the go
You can also choose to share your health information with a third-party app registered with FHCP. This gives you another way to review your health records when and where you need them.
How sharing your health data can help
Having more of your health information in one place can help you and your doctors make informed health care decisions. It may also mean less paperwork, fewer delays, and more timely care.
