IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR COLLIER COUNTY HEALTHY KIDS
Please note that Florida Health Care Plans participation in the Florida Health Kids Collier County Program will end at midnight September 30, 2015. All Collier County Florida Healthy Kids members will be transferred to new health plans effective October 1, 2015. What Is Healthy Kids And Who Is Eligible?
The Florida Healthy Kids Corporation was established in 1990 by the Florida Legislature as a public-private initiative to improve access to comprehensive health insurance for the state's uninsured children.
The Healthy Kids program was first made available in Florida in February of 1992 for eligible children in Volusia County. In the fall of 1993, coverage extended into Highlands County, then to Okeechobee County in May of 1994. Today, the Healthy Kids program is available statewide.
To be eligible for the Healthy Kids program the following eligibility requirements must be met:
• Children who are between the ages of 5 through 18
• Not eligible for Medicaid
