Your Complete Guide to Flu Care
There’s nothing worse than being sidelined with the flu. More than 200 known viruses can band together to cause “flu-like illness,” and cold weather makes it easier to catch. During the winter months, the cases of the flu skyrockets, and can be potentially deadly to the elderly, very young infants and people with chronic diseases.
No one schedules emergencies into their lives, they just happen…and a visit to an emergency department often called an ER or Emergency Room can sometimes be a frightening experience.
While some patients may avoid going to the emergency room because of a prior negative experience, many others do decide in certain instances to go directly to the ER, bypassing their regular doctor altogether. Putting off a necessary ER visit can be life threatening. On the other hand, clogging the ER system with a non-emergency problem can be costly for the patient and delay care to a patient experiencing a true life-threatening emergency.
